Event Recap
DrillBit participated in the Charleston Conference Asia 2026, themed "Between Tides: Navigating the Open Seas," one of the most prominent international gatherings for library professionals, publishers, and information service providers. The three-day event was held at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.
The conference brought together delegates from across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Africa — featuring sessions on open access, scholarly communication, AI in libraries, and the evolving landscape of academic publishing and content licensing.
DrillBit's Participation
DrillBit was present as an exhibitor with a dedicated booth in the conference exhibition hall. The team engaged with librarians, publishers, and academic leaders from institutions across the Asia-Pacific region, demonstrating the platform's plagiarism detection and AI content analysis capabilities.
The booth saw strong interest from international delegates, particularly around DrillBit's multilingual detection covering 24+ languages, content partnerships with publishers like Wiley and Crossref, and seamless LMS integrations via LTI 1.3. Several productive conversations around institutional partnerships and regional distribution were initiated during the event.
A DrillBit representative also presented at the podium during one of the conference sessions, sharing insights on the role of plagiarism detection tools in supporting the integrity of open access publishing workflows.
